Summer is the Season of Fire

In Chinese theory it is ruled by the fire of the heart but also includes the small intestines, triple warmer and pericardium meridian channels. The season of greatest Yang and activity is accompanied by the hot fun-filled days, enjoying outdoors and delightful nights. There is a delicate balance for fire people between the heart and lungs (fire restrains metal) and the heart and kidneys (water controls fire).

"The heart is the ruler over summer. The heart is the root of life and generates all changes in spirit. The condition of the heart may be read from a person's complexion. The heart fills the blood vessels and feeds life to the pulses." Chinese Folk Medicine

Facilitator: Susan Russell, Ph.D., Th.D., L.Ac., L.M.S.W. is a doctor of Integrative Energy Medicine and Holism. She offers nourishing bioenergetic therapies that focus on creating balance within each individual client physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, leading to optimal health and healing.
