“Earth Day, Every Day” poster tour at Cedar Hill

On Earth Day 2006, we will celebrate our human family’s place on this planet with a day of live music and outdoor activities such as a labyrinth walk, a cosmic walk through the certified wildlife habitat, opportunities to learn about landscaping with native plants and ways to become more involved with the Adopt-A-Stream program as well as a Georgia Organics demonstration on the benefits of locally grown produce.

A special guest for the day will be Priscilla Wilson, author of The Gourd Girls, which highlights a journey into community building and living with the land in North Georgia. Small trees, courtesy of Keep Forsyth Beautiful, will also be available for planting in honor or memory of someone. Stone plaques can be ordered to accompany the trees. We invite families to join the activities and bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the spacious grounds.

As a special highlight, we will host Pro Earth Group’s “Earth Day, Every Day” poster tour. This annual event, which features the student poster contest winners from local schools, involves young people in raising awareness of local and global environmental issues.

The fee for the April 22 event is $10.00 per person or $25.00 for families. Reservations can be made by calling 770-887-0051. Programs for the day are subject to change.
