Evening of An Evening of Contemplative Words featuring nationally known author Nan Merrill Friday, March 11, 2005 St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church will welcome Nan Merrill, author of the best-selling Psalms for Praying, for an evening of prayer, presentation and conversation. Nan is a catholic (small “c”) laywoman, mother of five, who lives a contemplative life in Jericho, Vermont. She is the founder of Friends of Silence, and publishes a monthly newsletter for people seeking a still point in the turning world. Nan’s other books include Lumen Christi-Holy Wisdom, and Meditations and Mandelas. The evening will include readings from Nan’s works, periods of silence and a chance to speak with Nan about her remarkable life and her ongoing surrender to the Indwelling God who meets us in the silence at the center. The gathering will take place in the parish hall. Suggested donation is $15.00. Coffee and dessert will be served. The event will be co-hosted by Revered Beverley Elliott and Lalor Cadley. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Cedar Hill Enrichment Center where Nan will be giving a workshop on Saturday, March 12. For further details call Lalor at 404-320-3253.
